The National Atomic Testing Museum

The Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas houses historical items and information about the Atomic testing that once happened in the surrounding deserts of Las Vegas. It’s been in development since 1997 filling the museum with historical items and information that tell the story of the military’s tests and their agenda. The first person narratives, large ionic artifacts and interactive elements for personal exploration tell a story that will blow your mind!

Much of the funding came from corporations and individuals that felt the historical museum needed to be established and recognized as an historical part of Las Vegas and Nevada.

Many who knew about the Nevada testing would come from far and wide just to catch an up close view of the testing process. There was even a sight set up on Mt. Charleston to go and see the spectacular poisonous clouds form after detonation. Though it was a sight to see, many were said to have suffered illness and even death overtime from being exposed to the atomic blasts. No one expected the effects of the blasts to reach so far even though viewing sights were set up far from the blasts ground zero.
