While not your Grandmother’s Fresh from the Oven Cinnamon roles, this easy to make Monkey Bread will make you friends other campers as soon as they smell them cooking. Just remember to save a few for park’s staff also.
If there was ever a recipe that you might have to double or triple up on – this is the one. Reading the recipe alone will have you mentally tasting them with your morning coffee or tea on a crisp cool morning.
Loaded with carbs, not only will this awaken the sleeping ones calling them to breakfast, but it will provide the energy to fuel the day’s adventures. Plus being a simple and easy to make treat, plan on your camp mates to expect them every morning.
- 1 can of biscuit dough
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp cold butter
Ingredients:
- Spray 2 large pieces of tin foil with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Stir cinnamon and sugar together.
- Break up the biscuits, cut each into four pieces, and coat in the cinnamon and sugar mix.
- Put biscuits on one of the sprayed tin foil sheets.
- Cut butter into small pieces and place between the cut biscuits.
- Sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture over the portions.
- Cover with the remaining sheet of foil and cook over hot coals for 20 minutes or until biscuits are thoroughly cooked, turning frequently.
