Almost everyone loves a good Philly Cheesesteak and there is no reason you can not enjoy one while camping out in the backwoods. Loaded with veggies, meat and cheese, this less then 1 hour to prepare and cook recipe will be a crowd favorite.
You can plan on kids of all ages to asking for this during each camping trip at least once – maybe twice.
- 2 large Yukon potatoes
- 1 large green pepper
- ½ yellow onion
- 6 oz. mushrooms
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- ½ tsp each paprika, onion powder, garlic powder
- 1.5t Tsp Italian seasoning
- Sliced Provolone cheese
Ingredients:
- Slice and dice all vegetables into bite-sized pieces and add to a bowl. Toss vegetables in olive oil until evenly coated.
- Add veggies to oil-coated foil sheets.
- Combine ketchup, Worcestershire, and seasonings to make the sauce.
- Add beef to sauce and knead until thoroughly mixed.
- Coarsely break beef apart over veggies until evenly dispersed.
- Seal packets and place over the fire, turning every 5 minutes until cooked through.
