Indoor climbing gyms are an excellent introduction to the climbing world as well as the training playground for avid rock climbers. The climbing gym walls are made from a massive wood structure containing thousands of hidden nuts. The holds are fastened to these nuts with a bolt, creating endless possibilities for routes. Each route is marked by colored tape, which makes identifying the route obvious while climbing. Every week our route setting staff strips sections of the gym and puts up new routes so you’ll always have new routes to try. We strip sections based on numbered anchors and an established schedule of rotations. You’ll always know when a route is going to be taken down so you can finish working a particular project.
The Red Rock Climbing Center offers both top-rope and lead climbing on over 8,000 square feet of climbing walls designed by Tony Yaniro and Doug Englekirk, two of the world’s top climbers. Additionally, the Red Rock Climbing Center offers over 1,000 square feet of radical overhangs and roof routes designed to tempt, taunt, and challenge every climber that enters our doors. Routes and boulder problems range from easy to very challenging and our route-setters keep all but our handful of classics changing on a regular basis. Our walls measure 35 feet high and combined with our roofs we have routes measuring nearly 100 feet in length – excellent for developing the strength and stamina needed to get on the great sport and trad routes available down the road in Red Rocks.
