Nevada became the 36th state on October 31, 1864.
The State of Nevada observes October 31, each year as a State Holiday. Many events are planned around the state. However, the holiday is often recognized and celebrated on a Friday or Monday to create a long weekend for state employees and school children – as most schools are closed in observance.
Check with local authorities for parades, festivals or other events.
