We are a private, charitable, non-profit organization whose primary objective is to practice and perpetuate the traditions, beliefs, language and the arts of the indigenous people of Hawaii. Chartered by the Association of the Hawaiian Civic Clubs in the State of Nevada in 1989, the Club is a 501(c)(4) organization.
As 2019 begins, we at LVHCC are looking forward to a fun filled year of activities. We start the year with 6 new club officers and board members who will support the vision and progression of this club for 2019.
This year LVHCC will be celebrating our 30th year of existence. That says a lot because Las Vegas is known as a very transient city.
We have had our good years and challenging years but through it all, WE SURVIVED! Now we are looking forward to being more visible in our community.
Case in point: we have moved forward from initial plans for a for rental space to begin development fo a community center by speaking with Nevada Congressional delegates in Washington DC related to lack of such a facility and the potential for matching funds as well as writing and submitting a resolution to the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (AHCC) which passed it–you can see the signed Resolution on the AHCC tab on this website–for this community center. This is a dream many have had, but none have executed.
We invite you to become a member and be active in all activities we have planned for 2019. With supportive community effort, we will be able to accomplish all goals and tasks we have planned for our Polynesian/Hawaiian community here in Las Vegas.
