Copper Basin Mountain Bile Trail

Phase I of the trail system consists of 11.1 miles of trail created from existing two-tracks and newly developed single-track trail in 2002. Phase I consists of four loops. The trails have been marked with Carsonite reassurance and junction posts.

The system is a partnership between Newmont Mining Co., Lander County and BLM-BMFO. Much pf the trail system is single track at this time, additional trails and double track areas are being developed.

Just south of Battle Mountain, the trail offers a variety of steep climbs and fast, technical descents through historic mining areas, sagebrush covered canyons and rocky ridges. A Copper Basin Mountain Bike Trail brochure is available at the Bureau of Land Management, Battle Mountain Field Office located at 50 Bastian Road. The brochure contains a detailed map with complete descriptions of each of the three trails including length, skill level, elevation gain, technical level and trail type distances.
