Chief Mountain South Camp Ground

This recreation site that provides amenities for camping and picnicking, such as restrooms, fire pits, picnic tables, and shade structures. It also is a trailhead for the Silver State OHV Trail.

There is no fee to use this facility.

This camp ground is located in Lincoln County, approximately 9 miles west of Caliente. Uses include Camping, OHV trails, picnicing and hiking. It is a southern gateway to the Silver State OHV Trail system and is situated below that Oak Springs Summit. Access to the Burnt Springs Range is available.

Upto 6 campsites are available which will handle large trailer/RVs. While no potable water is available, grills, picnic tables and shade structures are scattered around the area.

At an elevation of 6240, the area will be cooler then many surrounding valley locations.
